I been thinking about flax and the size of the seeds and how much flax it takes to make coldpress "Omega 3", "Omega 6", and one other nutrient oil.

How much of it you would need to grow in order to make sure that everybody on earth was able to get it?

I have a feeling we would be looking at something like we are facing with biofuels where there isn't enough tillable land so to speak. It is also energy intensive to make flax oil. What happens when we run out of oil to fuel the machines that raise harvest and process it?

This may be an example that mono source is not sustainable. We need to take a multi source approach With moderation to the amount we consume.

This brings to mind vitamins and its excess nutrients beyond what the body actually needs. What of reducing those levels to meet the daily allowance and say thats enough. Those vitamins comes from somewhere most likely heavily processed foods to extract the vitamins. Much of what we get in vitamins goes out the waste end as is.

Just some food for thought.

biker, sure, if you think it can be done without losing information.

Corey, flax is not the only source of omega-3's, they are also found in hemp seed, and in algae from the sea (that's where the fish get it from). I think it can also be found in a type of purslane herb. Fish has just been a convenient source, but now that the worlds fisheries are collapsing, other sources have to be investigated.

Some interesting reading

Default Vegan

I am a vegan. I sometimes feel a lot of difficulties in finding a good vegetarian restaurant.

Default Omega

It is difficult to tell about the whole website because it is not a food-chain. It has a list of restaurants under its database to browse and visit.
