simple "old money" current energy companies won't allow it.

competition infringes on their profits. without solar we have an illusions sense of competition among energy companies.....

the general population does not have time to research into companies to see whether this is true or not. therefore they become complacent when bombarded by commercials and news paper articles that give the impression of competition.

One way to know what I mean regarding this is look at the big companies. They buy up their competitors and often keep the original name of the competitors as a form of subsidiary when in reality it is the same company.
Example Dell Buyout of "Alienware" which are now the same company. If you were not aware of the buyout you could get the impression that alienware was still a competitor of dell and thus think the prices are lower when in reality they are fixed due to one company owning both. With the clout of that much revenue it becomes easy to prevent new competition from even getting into the market.

Corey,

Thanks for the reply, yes I agree M&A activities make corporates more powerful and are able to control the products and services which reach the mainstream.

Why has the general population become so careless? When will there be a turning point in the thinking of the general population and why is this the thinking in the general population changed in Japan and Germany has the corporations lost control over there?
