Tracking solar accumulating barbecue - Appropedia: The sustainability wiki has a first attempt at a tracker concept for the barbecue.
The sun moves at 15 degrees per hour so it makes no sense not to track it.
By the way Sheffler solar cookers are a higher tech solution to the same problems. And they work so why not this lower tech solution that is aimed at the huge home barbecueing market?

The tracker will also be useful for solar panels. Should give a major boost to output! And it might also work with a stepper motor that steps every 8 or 10 minutes! And it is a dirt cheap solution to the tracking problem too.

I like the idea that the cooker can store the heat in rocks or a block of metal, and then be used to cook food later in the day. It will be interesting to see what ideas can be used to overcome the possible drawbacks of solar cookers.
