Default Sustainable Healthcare - News and Case Studies Resource

I believe this is the only electronic newsletter that deals with sustainability issues in healthcare. This month, there are articles on:
  • the challenge hospitals face in finding medical devices made out of safer materials; (read article here)
  • how a Danish hospital has adopted a Swedish system for environmental classification of pharmaceuticals, in order to reduce the drug residues it passes into the environment; (read article here)
  • how the NHS in Cornwall has made hospital food taste good (!) by turning to local, fresh and some organic food; (read article here)
  • why the EU drive for simpler regulation might not be so great for the environment, since it conceals a roll-back on environmental controls (read article here)

And there's more! Hope someone finds this interesting. There are links from articles to related resources - the environmental classification of pharmaceuticals has some particularly interesting stuff attached to it.
