Default Tim Flannery announced as Australian of the Year

This is a big step for Australian society in the push to tackle climate change. Tim Flannery is one of the most influential people this country has ever seen. Thanks especially for his book "The Weather Makers" (which is a great read) and his new work .

The announcement that he is the Australian of the Year is truly a great sign for this country. Even if our prime minister isn't too happy about the choice (he is the short man in black).
