Hello,
I went to a coldstone creamery for a milkshake today (their milkshakes are fantastic) when I noticed that they use styrofoam cups for their milkshakes even though they use recyclable paper and plastic bowls for their ice cream. I asked the girl if she could find me another cup, perhaps one of their coffee cups? but even their coffee cups are coated in polystyrene! They got the manager (even though I really hadn't wanted to cause that much of a fuss) and he told me that if I brought my own cup in they would put my milkshake in it. (so everyone remember if you go to coldstone for a milkshake bring your own cup that you can wash at home instead of creating more waste) but that isn't good enough. I find it appalling that in this day and age anyone is using styrofoam for ANYTHING anymore! It takes over 900 years to biodegrade, it isn't recyclable, it's just a mess of environmentally unfriendly. I would like them to use recyclable paper cups and if at all possible part post consumer recycled materials because re-using is a huge part of sustainability. If anyone agrees with me and would like to help here is the part of their website where you can contact customer service:

please be polite, no one responds well to ranting raving and lecturing. Lets let them know that people care, and are willing to say something about it.
Thanks so much!
