It's a great step forward to get binding rather than voluntary targets in place. There's still a long way to go to get anywhere near to achieving them though, and even then they probably aren't tough enough!

My only hope is that other countries will start to live up to this standard and even try to out do each other. Competition is a powerful tool.

In Australia we are still debating the existence of human-induced climate change.
