They are simply looking for the most knowledgeable and inspiring Ethical Supply Chain Manager with international experience to be based in the UK. The ideal Candidate will define, develop and implement the appropriate policies and practices that deliver the company's strategic objectives and corporate values in this space.
The ideal Candidate will have a complete understanding of the ethical issues, practices and strategy in this sector, at all points along the supply chain from Consumers to primary Suppliers. They will be commercially driven and have a proven track record of 5-10 years in the food industry or related field and will have contributed to the CSR strategy in previous roles.
You will need to show experience in:
- Driving ethical policies in sourcing strategy, having developed and implemented appropriate procedures, standards and measures in your previous roles
- Managing supplier evaluation and the process of CSR auditing, providing support and specific guidance on CSR issues
- Participating in all relevant industry bodies, having acted as the ambassador in your previous roles and been seen as the liaison point in all matters of Ethical Supply Chain
- Developing skills and practices required to perform within global expectations and company commitment to best practices
- Organising and supporting forums within which information and knowledge can be conveyed that will allow for overall dissemination of practices
- Understanding and demonstrating competency of impact assessment methodologies, including familiarity with leading edge tools and approaches
- Communicating and influencing, including writing and reporting, for both internal and external audiences, at a variety of levels (e.g. from senior managers, industry heads through to local community members). An ability to provide a compelling case for action across a range of stakeholders - Marketing teams, Commodities, Procurement, Manufacturing, Customer/Consumers, NGOs, Development agencies, Trade bodies, Suppliers
- Ensuring that all working practices comply with Health and Safety legislation
- Working under pressure in different cultural and socio-economic contexts
