Default HOT JOB Carbon Analyst (Forestry)

Home Based/London | Circa £35kAcre has been instructed to find a Technical Carbon Analyst in relation to international forestry projects.
Our client is a company that develops community focused forestation projects to facilitate the sale of carbon offsets to businesses and individuals to support the conservation and management of existing forests and the planting of new ones.
Their approach addresses poverty alleviation, sustainable development and biodiversity conservation, while also tackling carbon emissions in conservation areas recovering from protracted conflict.
They are now looking for a Technical expert to provide advice on the following aspects of their business:
  • Voluntary Carbon Standards - have practical experience with all the stages of project preparation, registration and compliance with key standards with particular emphasis on CCBA and VCF.
  • LULUCF and carbon sequestration
  • Methodologies for carbon accounting (knowledge of Co2fix preferred)
  • CDM and its framework, specifically project preparation, submission and registration through CDM.
  • REDD'S - familiarity with the negotiations and developments relating to REDD’S and possible verification regimes.
With a PHD/Masters in a relevant subject you will have experience of undertaking remote desk studies and providing advice on Best Practice and Standards in relation to VER forestry projects.
This position will give the successful candidate the opportunity to have exposure to ground breaking projects as well as joining a company at an exciting stage of its growth.
