The job…
* Leading the creation and implementation of an integrated PR and Media Relations strategy to drive sales and Company/Brand recognition across Corporate, Consumer, Trade, International and Food Service divisions; ensuring the company’s communications are targeted in content, delivery, and audience; working to ensure consistency of messaging
* Working to develop and implement a proactive annual media relations plan across all stakeholders
* Being the first point of contact and building relationships within the media as a key stakeholder group; evaluating and reporting on press coverage and promotional activities, budgets and return on investment
* Leading the process to agree the company’s ‘house style’ and ensure that all communications reflect it
* Supporting internal communications; effectively managing external agencies; identifying and managing PR projects including the company’s approach to Fairtrade fortnight; planning and going on media trips abroad, leveraging media opportunities with partner organisations.
You…
* Have a good working knowledge of spoken Spanish
* Have a minimum of 5 years PR and strategy experience, and a track record of effectively utilising the whole range of communications: advertising & PR, networks and databases, direct marketing, digital & viral marketing, sponsorship & competitions, promotions and events etc, according to business need.
* Extensive experience of working with and managing PR agencies, as well as the press
* Are curious, energetic, and imaginative
* Have strong organisational skills
* Have commercial experience, ideally with the food service sector and the supermarket scene
* Are flexible and able to respond quickly to changing situations
* Have excellent influencing skills, and the ability to influence and enthuse across many groups at all levels.
* Are a team player who thrives in the context of cross-team working
* Are a skilled people manager, and are able to motivate directly and indirectly managed teams.
* Are deeply passionate about Fairtrade.
