Analyst, Responsible Investment
One of the UK's leading socially responsible investors with a long and sucessful history in SRI is offering an exciting opportunity to join its team of investment professionals as an analyst.
Role Purpose: To undertake research, analysis and engagement activities in accordance with the responsible investment policy, primarily in respect of social, ethical and environmental (SEE) issues.
Dimensions: Responsible investment applies across all funds and is a key component of "The Co-operative" brand, the UK's most ethical brand*. The roleholder will be in a position to affect the public's perception of this.
Key Task/Activities: To undertake assessments of the SEE risks and opportunities of relevant UK and international investee companies as part of the overall stock valuation process, hand in hand with equity analysts.
To identify and conduct research of issues relevant to the implementation of responsible investment policy.
To identify, plan and implement engagement projects in furtherance of the Ethical Engagement Policy.
To assist in the production of material that promotes, publicises and explains the work of company.
To develop strong, positive working relations with key stakeholders external stakeholders such as investee companies, NGOs and government departments; and internal stakeholders such as fund managers, corporate affairs, marketing and the Co-operative Group.
To represent The Co-operative Asset Management externally.
Typical Experience
Graduate level of education;
Appropriate professional qualification (or relevant post-graduate qualification);
Proven experience in this or a closely related field, with demonstrable ability to undertake original research and analysis;
Knowledge of how financial markets operate;
Strong communications and influencing skills;
Ability to self-manage and initiate work.
Salary: Competitive - based on experience, additional performance related bonus, pension and benefits.
