Default International Development Policy Officer WWF-UK

International Development Policy Officer WWF-UK

LOCATION: GODALMING, SURREY
SALARY: C. £29,000
GRADE: C
CONTRACT: FULL TIME / PERMANENT
REF: POLAVID

Do you want to play a key role in building a One Planet Future?

WWF believes that humanity is facing a period of great change. With that change comes both challenges and opportunity.

Our vision for a One Planet Future, acknowledges that we live in an increasingly interdependent global economy and that we urgently need to find new ways to live that are both fair and sustainable. WWF seeks to understand and respond to a series of interlinked global challenges, defining what we need to build and how to get there.

To help with this work we are recruiting to an exciting new post focussing on the theme of 'accountability' - within the context of our exciting 'One Planet' sustainable consumption strategy.

Our International Development Policy Officer will work to hold international development institutions (DFID, World Bank etc) to account, both in terms of their direct environmental and social impact, and also with regard to the way in which these financial flows act to influence the flows of private finance to developing and emerging economies. A strong component of this role will be to understand and react to the emerging debate on low carbon development and climate resilient development. The person we are looking for will have experience of both the environment and social development agendas and will be an experienced networker, committed to working in coalitions and willing to challenge established agendas and viewpoints.

For more information about this opportunity please see the job description.

If you feel you would like to work for an organisation where you can really make a difference please send your CV and a covering letter which details how your experience and skillset meets each point within the person specification to the Recruitment Officer, WWF-UK, Panda House, Weyside Park, Godalming, Surrey GU7 1XR or email recruitment@wwf.org.uk quoting reference POLAVID
