Southern Home Counties | Circa £30,000 + benefitsOne of the global leading brands in electronics is seeking a European Recycling Specialist to join the team based in the Home Counties.
The company is committed to continuous improvement and investment into research and development to improve their environmental company and product performance. The Sustainability Specialist will have a European remit and will be required to provide support and expert advice to the team on a broad range of key European sustainability issues within the electronics sector, including energy efficiency, chemicals, and waste.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring and analysing new European legislation, writing report summaries and benchmarking on sustainability issues
- Assisting with the management of waste legislation within Europe to ensure the company is fully compliant
- Developing and producing communication material on European sustainability issues
- Acting as key contact on sustainability issues for stakeholders and external contacts
As an environmental and sustainability professional with UK working experience, you will possess a broad range of expertise in the field. You will have experience in either a consultancy or in-house environment where you have been undertaking similar work. Experience of working in a similar role for a consumer electronics brand would be advantageous. Alongside this you will posses:
- Knowledge of a range of environmental issues affecting the electronic sector (i.e. WEEE, REACH, RoHS, EuP, energy and carbon management)
- Bachelors or Masters degree (or equivalent) in sustainability / environmental management related subject
- Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills, with a high
- Ability to analyse technical information with strong research skills
- Ability to work autonomously with minimum guidance
- Determination and dedication towards the environment
