Central London | £35,000 basic | £60,000 + OTEInternational leader of analysis and research information to the Carbon Markets in Europe, Australia and North America is seeking a talented, highly motivated team member in the European business development division. The business is a highly respected player within the rapidly growing Carbon Markets and is a major industry and press commentary contributor. Clients include investment banks, energy utilities and a wide range of specialised asset managers.
- As the Business Development Associate you will work closely with the Director and commercial executives to develop innovative strategies for penetrating new accounts and expanding relationships with existing clients.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Working as part of a team to develop business from warm leads and improve relationships with existing clients
- Deliver product and market specific presentations
- Lead potential clients into active client status through a consultative sales approach (no cold calling)
- Attend and represent the company at conferences and networking opportunities
Qualifications and experience:
- Proven track record selling financial or economic subscription information services
- Strong working knowledge of finance, including public markets, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, commodities trading and project finance
- Solid quantitative skills, comfort with financial databases, corporate and market statistics and other aspects of financial analysis
- Knowledge of and passion for the carbon markets, renewable energy industry and low-carbon technology sectors
- Ability to set and meet business development goals
- Gravitas to interact with and engage senior management at global institutions
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent)
- European language skills to a business level
- Pan-European sales experience highly beneficial
The position will be based in Central London with UK and European travel. You will have the opportunity to immerse yourself into the Carbon Marketplace and develop greater responsibility over territories in your remit. The business is growing and developing with new offices opened in Brazil and Sydney.
