The company are committed to sustainable development and as such are now looking to recruit a Sustainability and Environmental Project Manager to be based in their global head office in Germany.
In this newly created position you will be responsible for developing and managing the company's global Environmental Management System (EMS) and Corporate Sustainability initiatives. You will develop and drive the business case and framework for the effective implementation and management of the company's overall environmental and sustainability strategy, ensuring future environmental performance success. Alongside this, you will be accountable for maintaining, monitoring and continuously improving environmental progress to achieve the company's commitment to reducing carbon emissions. You will be responsible for managing internal and external communications, stakeholder management, and positively positioning the company's environmental performance.
The successful candidate will be an experienced environmental and corporate sustainability professional with a strong understanding of the impact of environmental and social responsibility issues on the business. International exposure to a range of environmental issues is imperative as are exceptional project management skills. Knowledge of the environmental issues faced by the transportation and logistics sector would be beneficial. Further qualities and experience required include:
- Strong influencing skills and experience in strategy & planning
- An understanding of branding and creating practical internal and external communications solutions
- Excellent understanding of International Standards and compliances approaches and procedures, ISO 14001
- Possess the ability to communicate, engage with, and influence people at all levels.
- Strong organisational skills and a self-starter
- Passion for Corporate Sustainability, particularly environmental related issues
- Strong analytical skills
- Written and spoken English to business level; fluency in other languages would be advantageous
