Default UK: Technical Offshore Wind Manager

London | £NegotiableOur client currently is a global petrochemical company who operate wind farms in the US, India and The Netherlands.
They are now looking to grow their wind business in the EU specifically focusing on offshore wind as a key strategic area. In the short term they plan to participate in at least 1000MW of offshore wind projects in Europe.
They are now looking for an experienced professional who will be responsible for the design during the development phase of all mechanical, electrical and control/instrumentation engineering of offshore wind farms. It is essential that the candidate has a proven track record in this field.
The role will include:
  • Design of wind farm layout and selection of wind turbines
  • Identifying grid connection options and cabling routes
  • Investigating construction logistics and operational access
  • Preparation of project programme
  • Leadership on project and operational HSSE
  • Estimating costs of construction and operation
  • Support to the site selection and the consenting process.
Once the planning phases are completed it is envisaged that the successful candidate would be managing the construction phase of their first offshore wind farm in the EU. This position would suit someone who has a proactive style with strengths in the following areas:
  • Ability to lead through influence
  • Teamwork
  • Communication skills
  • Planning and organizational
