QVC, Inc. cares about the community beyond our offices. Our care and concern is demonstrated and managed by the Manager, Community Affairs and Green Programs, a philanthropically-driven position. The Manager oversees QVC's programs related to Community Affairs and Sustainability / "Going Green." Located at our corporate headquarters in West Chester, PA, the Manager reports to the VP, Total Rewards in Human Resources.
The Manager's responsibilities include:
# Providing appropriate strategy and planning for Community Affairs and Green initiatives;
# For Community Affiars: evaluating funding requests, communicating w/requestors and community, coordinating site activities and managing budget;
# For Green Programs: evaluating infrastructure of programs, monitoring reportings on green initiatives and coordinating site activities and determining ongoing strategy;
# Actively seeking new resources and innovative ways to maximize Community Affairs and Green messaging internally and externally;
# Evaluating guidelines created to monitor and manage programs;
# Managing support staff by providing direction and monitoring quality and quantity of work;
# Organizing major support projects such as Habitat for Humanity, Make a Change, Recycling, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, etc.;
# Broadening the "QVC Cares" and "QVC Green" brand both internally and externally;
# Developing and maintaining partnerships with external groups to meet QVC program and corporate goals;
# Managing and creating relationships with leading corporate-responsibility, civic-engagement, non-profit businesses and organizations and sustainability groups;
# Overseeing projects from start to finish including directing and approving the message from inception, the creative work and implementation and partnering with Internal Communication, PR, Marketing, and other QVC depts.;
# Managing the day-to-day opertaions of QVC's cause-related marketing program which includes ensuring due diligence on the organizations and donations is complete;
# Managing QVC's disaster relief program and execution of local and national relief efforts;
# Budget responsibiltiy;
# Managing special projects at the VP's request.
Qualifications & Requirements:
# BA in Business, Communications or Marketing.
# Minimum 5 years experience in busines, community affairs or office management, or related work experience.
# Passion and knowledge of Community Affairs and Green programming.
# Demonstrated experience leading and developing a team.
# Demonstrated ability to lead change.
# Ability to represent QVC to the outside community at all times.
# Practical knowledge of Marketing, PR, Government Affairs and Corporate Social Responsibility business practices.
# Ability to develop standards and guidelines, as well as project timelines and budgets.
# Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
# Exceptional judgment, initiative and tact, particularly when dealing with outside community groups.
# Strong PC skills required.
