Senior Analyst (Glendale, CA)
Organization: The Walt Disney Company, International Labor Standards

The Walt Disney Company is seeking an analytical, results-driven, and team-oriented individual with strong project management skills for the position of Senior Analyst in its International Labor Standards Collaboration and Communication Group, based in Glendale, California. Disney is committed to the promotion and maintenance of responsible international labor practices in its licensing and direct sourcing operations throughout the world. The Company operates a wide-ranging International Labor Standards (ILS) program centered on its Code of Conduct for Manufacturers. The practices outlined in the Code are reinforced through monitoring activities, as well as key programs designed to provide and support education and cooperation, and an increasing emphasis on collaborative efforts.

The Senior Analyst reports to the Senior Manager, Monitoring Operations and provides analytical, project management, and research support to the ILS Collaboration and Communication function, which focuses on identifying and collaborating with external stakeholders on areas of mutual interest in improving international labor standards and performance. The Senior Analyst will administer the execution, actions, measurement and communication of a wide range of activities relating to social compliance projects and collaborations. This includes developing tools to track project milestones, interfacing with internal and external parties to initiate or obtain updates on actions, researching and identifying new techniques and resources, providing regular updates on project status, preparing data and presentations on activity and general research on social compliance issues. A successful candidate will possess strong skills in analysis, communication, and project management.
Main Role and Responsibilities:

* Projects Management: Administer monitoring, remediation and communication projects including obtaining, processing and maintaining data; recommending action steps, with appropriate input; communicating progress; and creating tools to support these activities
* Analysis: Analyze learnings among various projects, initiatives and collaborations so that best practices can be applied to the general ILS program; identify and communicate synergies among projects; track results.
* Research: Conduct issue-specific research and produce summaries on ILS issues, including trends in labor laws, labor standards, reporting, collaborative engagements, special projects, and country-specific issues. Assess inquiries by third parties and coordinate appropriate responses.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Support the ILS management team in engaging external stakeholders through research, review and/or development of project plans and dialogue.
* Performance Measurement: Create measurement approaches and data tools to measure and communicate performance of ILS program as well as related performance of business units, licensees, vendors, and factories
* Communication: Manage content, structure and maintenance of The Walt Disney Company and Affiliated Companies - International Labor Standards including drafting of new or updating existing material, coordination with appropriate stakeholders for review, coordination with Disney Internet Group to maintain site. Act as a global coordinator for program materials and policies for internal staff, business units, licensees, vendors and factories.
* Collaboration: Coordinate with ILS global team members to gather information and communicate next steps.

Requirements:

* Three to five years experience in corporate responsibility or supply chain human/labor rights, preferably for a company, multi-lateral institution, social research organization, multi-stakeholder initiative, or social compliance monitoring firm
* Bachelor’s degree, preferably in International Affairs, Public Policy, Communications, Business Administration or related field; Master’s degree preferred
* Strong understanding of international human rights, labor standards, social compliance, factory monitoring and remediation techniques
* Familiarity with socially responsible investment research, analysis, rating and reporting
* Familiarity with stakeholder engagement opportunities
* Strong project management skills
* Strong oral and written communication skills, including experience developing and delivering reports and/or presentations to senior internal and external leaders
* Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and follow through
* Comprehensive research skills
* Creative thinker
* Self-motivated, sense of urgency and initiative
* Ability to operate both independently and as part of a team
* Ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities while achieving high level results
* Ability to drive activity and bring issues to closure
* Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office programs -- Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Word
* Prefers and is able to be flexible in a fast-paced and changing environment
* Prefers a collaborative work environment
* Graphic/visual design proficiency preferred
* Working knowledge of a second language preferred
* Experience in an international work environment preferred
