Social and Environmental Responsibility, Specialist (Shanghai, China - 2 Openings; Shenzhen, China - 1 Opening)
Organization: The Home Depot

POSITION PURPOSE

Typically reports to Assistant Manager, Social and Environmental Responsibility, Asia Sourcing Office. Oversight by regional Managing Director Asia Sourcing Office. Assist in the execution of Social and Environmental Responsibility strategy for Shenzhen and Shanghai Regional Sourcing Offices.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

* Execute focuses as directed in the implementation of social and environmental responsibility program in factories throughout Asia Sourcing Office region
* Audit factories and follow up to assist with corrective action
* Additionally, the position is expected to write comprehensive evaluation reports in English for each factory assessment conducted in an accurate, detailed and timely manner.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications:

* Three years experience conducting factory audits and overseeing corrective actions
* Strong understanding of factory and supply chain operations
* Strong understanding of codes of conduct, and international labor standards
* Strong knowledge of CSR issues in Asia, familiarity with the NGO environment and multi-stakeholder initiatives
* Ability to develop, get buy-in, and implement programs to improve factory management systems and overall working conditions
* Fluent spoken and written Chinese (Mandarin), as well as strong written and spoken English. Other regional languages desirable.
* This job will require extensive regional travel up to 50%.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

* Experience working effectively with cross function teams
* PC proficiency, including knowledge of worksheet, word processing, project management and presentation applications
