Our global brands including Andrex®, Kleenex® and Huggies® are sold in more than 150 countries. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and organized person to co-ordinate the environmental and sustainability issues associated with major consumer products brands across Europe.
This new position will play a key role in implementing our new sustainability strategy through executing projects to change our behaviours and those of our suppliers in a variety of areas including raw materials, sustainable packaging and reducing our carbon footprint.
You will assist in raising the company's sustainability performance by carefully managing its reputation and its relationships with key customers and suppliers through clear communications strategies that anticipate the evolving needs of the retail industry and environmental campaigning groups.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Sustainability Manager and the technical teams within the business units
- Project-manage and advise on a series of sustainability initiatives focused on delivering technical solutions
- Implement projects linked to the four key sustainability focus areas for Europe
- Coordinate responses to environmental and social issues
- Assist in the development of relationships with external stakeholders
- Work with other teams to develop and implement sustainability training for key parts of the European business
- Strive for excellence in all formal and informal communications
- Contribute to an environment in which all team members are respected regardless of their individual differences
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Qualifications
- Graduate calibre or equivalent, degree in a technical/scientific subject desirable
- A broad appreciation/understanding of: environmental issues, social responsibility, business management
Previous experience
- Analytical
- Self-motivated, self-starter
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and oral contexts
- Ability to work flexibly and effectively with all stakeholder groups
- Ability to source and handle technical data as well as communicating this information in an appropriate manner
- Business experience within a relevant field desirable
Languages
Fluent English is essential, good working knowledge of another European language is desirable.
