Sustainability Officer

Salary: up to £25,855 p.a. + Car Option

Inclusive salary up to £25,855 p.a. + Car Option (subject to Job Evaluation)

Reporting to the Sustainability Team Leader, you will be part of the team which is responsible for the integration, development and delivery of sustainable development initiatives arising from the Council's Sustainability Strategy, Community Plan and related strategies, to improve the quality of life within the district.

Working with the local community and in partnership with external organisations, you will promote sustainability, sustainable living and all aspects of energy efficiency, to ensure the Council meets its obligation under the Home Energy Conservation Act 1995.

Educated to degree or equivalent in a related subject, you will ideally possess a postgraduate diploma or certificate in Sustainable Development.

An excellent communicator, you will have the ability to develop/deliver strategies and policies. Knowledge and understanding of local, national and international sustainability issues and policies are essential for this key role.

The Council is keen to promote home working and other flexible working practices.
