The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) ENERGY STAR Commercial Buildings program seeks an energetic person to help develop and implement strategies to increase energy efficiency in commercial property markets, including office, retail, hospitality, and other sectors.
Through ENERGY STAR, EPA partners with a range of private companies, schools, and government organizations to encourage them to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from their building operations through improved energy efficiency.
This position is on the commercial sector team, which conducts activities such as strategic planning, outreach, recruiting, marketing, material development, analysis, and communicating accomplishments (both internally and with industry partners and associations).
The position involves working closely with energy managers and high level officials at a wide variety of major corporations to communicate to them the value of energy efficiency to their businesses, and to assist them in their efforts to incorporate energy efficiency considerations into their building operations. It also involves developing strategic partnerships with industry associations and other membership organizations.
Qualifications
Strong candidates will have excellent communications skills, an understanding of corporate organizational structure, decision-making, and financial value, proven analytical skills, and several years of work experience in the private sector, or working with the private sector.
Knowledge of the office, retail, hospitality, or restaurant sectors, commercial building energy efficiency, and/or ENERGY STAR is a plus, but is not required. Some travel is required.
Salary: GS 11/12/13: $58,206 - $107,854 per year
