A position for an Environmental Manager has arisen within a UK market leader delivering facilities, engineering and property services. Their success in achieving sustainable growth, through responsible and proactive engagement with stakeholders, has enabled them to become a FTSE 250 company achieving annual revenues of over 1bn.
Working with communities and the local government on behalf of our client, you will manage the delivery of their environmental contract. Reporting to the sustainable operations manager, you will advise on recycling, through to the biodiversity and the social impacts of the company.
Your key duties in this role will be to:
- Maintain, extend and develop the environmental management system and its certification to ISO14001
- Manage the Energy Efficiency Action Plan
- Promote sustainable procurement and good supply chain management
- Deliver carbon reduction projects
- Advise and implement best practice on energy and waste management
- Assist in organising the sustainable development forum
A successful applicant will have:
- A degree, or equivalent, in an environmental field
- Experience working on environmental management systems and auditing
- Initiative and drive
- Commitment to environmental issues
- A professional attitude with attention to detail
A masters degree or experience working in a related role would be advantageous.
