Description
In line with our founding Scott Trust values, Guardian News & Media aims to be environmentally regenerative. Our vision is to be the leader on sustainability within the media industry as well as achieve our intention to become carbon positive through our activities. We are seeking an Environmental Manager to co-ordinate the management of our environmental performance.
The main focus of this role will be to manage the development and implementation of an environmental management system. This will include developing environmental strategies and leading the roll out of environmental policies and practices. You will be expected to identify, assess and reduce our environmental risks and financial costs as well as auditing and reporting on environmental performance.
This role will suit a motivated environmental professional looking to make an impact in our innovative organisation. Proven experience in a similar role is essential, as is a degree or postgraduate qualification in environmental management or environmental science. With evident strategic skills you will bring multi-disciplined networks together and raise awareness, at all levels of the organisation, of the impact of emerging environmental issues. Exceptional interpersonal skills are a must, as is the ability to make effective presentations. Above all you should have an awareness and appreciation for our values.
