This innovative and successful fair trade organisation are looking for a Head of Human Resources to operate in this uniquely structured operation. Situated in London and reporting directly to the CEO, the Head of HR will operate in the context of business model based around a large number of sub-contractors and partners. As such the feel is one of a group head office, with the successful candidate providing a combination of strategic thinking, top-level influencing skills and practical management of operational HR issues.

The job…
- Leading, managing and developing all aspects of the human resource function, providing comprehensive strategic HR planning and practice in line with the vision, mission and strategy of the organisation. Key responsibilities include;
o Design, development and evaluation of the organisation’s people strategy
o In line with the people strategy, design, development and implementation of strategies for recruitment, induction, remuneration & reward, performance management (including a competence framework), L&D, employee engagement & motivation, internal communications (including feedback mechanisms), succession & progression planning and compliance with employment law.
o Ensuring the coordination of all related administration, training and change management
- Ensuring business compliance with relevant employment law obligations.
- Managing, guiding, leading & mentoring the small team supporting HR policy implementation.
- As a member of the Executive team, contributing to company-wide strategy formulation and decision-making.

- Are CIPD qualified, or equivalent, with 8+ years HR experience; 3+ at a senior level, with a great track record across a range of HR disciplines
- Are a big picture thinker, with experience of developing strategy
- Have excellent, up-to-date knowledge of employment law and of giving succinct legal advice, managing challenging situations.
- Have significant commercial sector experience, with the ability to build partnerships within the different business functions and understand the impact of commercial issues on HRM
- Are flexible, energetic, resilient, driven and proactive
- Are a persuasive communicator, an influencer and capable of building credibility and buy-in
- Also desirable: MCIPD or FCIPD; FMCG experience, commitment to fair trade and experience of Investors in People.
