The International Hydropower Association is now recruting for two senior positions: Climate Change Specialist and Programme Director.

The International Hydropower Association (IHA) is the global organisation advancing hydropower’s role in meeting the world’s water and energy needs by championing continuous improvement and sustainable practices; building consensus through strong partnerships with other stakeholders; driving initiatives to increase the contribution of renewable energy, especially hydropower.
IHA has consultative/observer status with all United Nations agencies addressing water, energy and climate change. It is also a founding partner of the International Renewable Energy Alliance. With current concerns over water and energy security, including the problems of climate change, the need to manage water resources more effectively and increase domestic sources of energy, especially renewable energy, has never been greater.
Climate Change Specialist
The Climate Change Specialist is a multi-dimensional role in a small, energetic team, reporting to the Executive Director and a steering committee. Based in the IHA central office in southwest London, responsibilities will require regular international travel and an aptitude to work and organize matters independently. He/She will be expected to further develop IHA’s present initiatives on the greenhouse gas (GHG) status of hydropower and climate change mitigation and adaptation. The successful applicant will need to develop effective and productive working relationships both within and outside the hydropower sector.
Programme Director
The Programme Director is a multi-dimensional, senior role in a small, energetic team, reporting to the Executive Director. Based in the IHA central office in southwest London , the role will involve regular international travel. He/She will also be expected to develop a highly effective and productive working relationship with the organisation’s main constituent members and sponsors, its Board and consultative Council, its partners and stakeholders, and act as an ambassador for the Association on behalf of the hydropower sector.
