The Climate Group is seeking highly motivated research interns to play a key role in the organisation’s research and business work. Reporting to the Research Programme Manager, the role presents a challenging opportunity for dynamic individuals to work in a successful international NGO.

The Climate Group is an international NGO with offices in the UK, US, China and Australia that works to promote leadership in response to global climate change.
Research forms a key component of The Climate Group’s work to produce and disseminate information on leadership and best practice in the transition to a low carbon economy.
Information is disseminated to key players in business and government through written materials such as publications, briefing papers and presentations, to date led by the Carbon Down Profits Up report and through the organisation’s sector Business Leadership Programme Areas (People and Communication, Finance, Low Carbon Power, Transportation/Logistics, Buildings/Infrastructure, Products and Services) and other engagement activities centered around cities and regions.
The research team is central to the organisation and the achievement of the Climate Group’s mission.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The role will work closely with our existing research team, reporting to the Research Programme Manager and be expected to carry out the following tasks:
• Support the implementation and delivery of The Climate Group’s research and business programme, with a likely focus on corporate strategy, government policy and economics.
• Provide research input to The Climate Groups’ Leadership programmes and engagement work, as well as to presentations and responses to enquiries.
• Undertake research and writing required for the publications of Carbon Down Profits Up and ‘In the Black’: The Growth of the Low Carbon Economy.
• Assist in the compilation of case studies and briefing papers
ABOUT YOU
The successful candidates will have the following skills and experience:
• Working towards, or already in the possession of, a good first or second degree in a relevant area
• Available for a minimum 8 week continuous period
• An understanding of corporate performance on climate and energy issues
• At least two years experience carrying out research-related tasks
• Good knowledge of the range of climate/energy-related and business information sources
• Good writing skills
• Ability to work on different projects and provide research inputs at short notice
• Ability to work on his/her own initiative
