Due to their rapid expansion in these areas, an entrepreneurial role that sits within the Climate Change Group has arisen. The successful candidate will report directly into senior management, yet have the freedom and resources to work autonomously where appropriate.
Role responsibilities:
- Coordinating:- Priority legislative/regulatory advocacy issues to support development efforts around CDM/JI projects and activities
- The development of company positions on legislative and regulatory issues impacting operational and business practices
- Enquiries from government officials and others regarding positions on issues
- Developing:- Legislative/regulatory proposals and initiatives to further business plans & strategies.
- Implementing relationship strategies with different countries and communities
- Build credibility as a CDM/JI player in respective countries, and understanding local requirements
- Relationships with national and international government bodies and NGOs where appropriate
- General- Review plan and integrate thinking into regulatory plan and VER standard definition
- Conduct special research projects on major issues affecting the Group
- Foster excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
You will be a highly experienced Climate Change professional with international knowledge of CDM verification, project development and political implications.
A background in advocacy or public policy and fundamental knowledge of the legislative/regulatory process are preferred. Experience or background in global climate change, carbon markets, trading mechanisms and economic evaluation.
Other requirements include:
- Strategic thinking - be able to analyse and address complex issues & approaches, and anticipate and manages change.
- Innovation - results oriented self-starter, able to work in a quickly changing environment, under deadlines and execute multiple requirements.
- Leadership - demonstrated ability to motivate and lead internal and external multi-stakeholder groups to achieve desired results, working with all levels in the organization.
- Brilliant communication skills (written and oral) to a variety of audiences and an excellent, effective negotiator.
