Job Description
NATURE OF WORK - (summary of purpose of the role):
Implement Group Trading Law and Technical's Ethical Trading workplans. In particular to:-
Manage the Ethical Trading risk assessment and delivery programme, for Corporate Purchasing.
Support Corporate Purchasing commercial teams, to implement their plan for identifying and rectifying breaches globally of the ETI Base Code.
Support Corporate Purchasing commercial teams to deliver their ethical trading work plans.
Deliver training to help develop Corporate Purchasing Buyers, Technical Managers and suppliers which will help deliver their Category and business Ethical Trading Programmes.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Resource Complexity - (the accountability for resources i.e. people, budgets, systems, know how):
Accountable for managing systems to:-
Ensure full cost recovery of Tesco's Ethical Trading programme by maintaining an accurate list of Corporate Purchasing suppliers for the UK business.
Advises and coaches/influences Category Teams on Ethical Trading issues.
Problem Solving - (the types of problems that need to be solved):
Manage emerging Ethical Trading issues.
Support commercial teams to ensure they have the capability to deliver policies
Contribute to identifying root causes and solutions.
Identify key impacts on corporate plans and develop solutions.
Change - (the performance improvements or innovations that are required):
Monitor and analyse data supporting Tesco Ethical Risk Assessment and Ethical Trading Programme
Ethical Trading policy relies on risk management by supplier categories. This will need constant review as compliance programmes develop, knowledge builds and problems emerge.
Deliver training to help develop Corporate Purchasing Technical Managers and buyers within the business which will help deliver their Category and business Ethical Trading Programmes
The Ethical Trading risk management programme may differ from country to country, supplier categories and change at different rates. These differences must be managed so as to avoid reputational damage and to minimise duplication.

Training providers and other consultants

Candidate Profile
Operating (Technical) skills, knowledge and experience required:
Graduate calibre or equivalent
Operational expereince in a Technical Manager role
Knowledge of corporate compliance programmes
Experience of working outside the UK for safety, legality and Ethical Trading
Knowledge and experience of goods not for resale supply chains
