Default Hello ... I'm Greenandserene

... or at least I try to be. I get to do a fair bit around sustainability in my work as marketing director for a company that makes laser printers which are designed to reduce environmental impact. It was this design-led approach to sustainability that attracted me to join the company in 1993 and over the years has given me the opportunity to learn so much about sustainable office practice that I now get invited to speak about it at conferences.

In my own time I run the greenandserene blog and am researching sustainable construction in the hope of building an urban eco-house.

I usually have more questions than answers, and this looks like a fine place to exchange knowledge with like-minded people. I look forward to meeting you!

Hello Fabian
Unfortunately I'm not that well informed yet, I'm just starting to research the eco-build project. My house will be in a small urban site so straw bale walls and reed bed water treatment are out of the question - my challenge is to build something that looks quite conventional but has a low carbon impact. Currently I'm researching vertically-sunk groundsource heat pumps, heat exchangers, greywater collection systems and pv solar micro-generation. If I find anything really good, I'll post it!
