Default Greetings from Sweden

Hi all,

My name is Tony Thompson... I'm from the US, but living/working/studying Sustainable Product Innovation in Sweden.

I also am one of Al Gore's climate presenters -- I give presentations based on the slides that he gave in "An Inconvenient Truth". So if you have an audience in Sweden (or other places that I might be visiting), I'd be delighted to meet with people in your area to talk about climate change. Part of my agreement with The Climate Project is that I don't get paid anything (but I might ask for help in paying for my travel expenses).

Otherwise - I'm just glad to be joining such a forum and I look forward to seeing what all we can learn from each other!

Cheers-
Tony

Hello Tony, and welcome to Sustainability Forum.

As you would have noticed, some of our members are quite skeptical about Al Gore! But, we must never lose site of the fact that the issues at stake are more significant than the personalities or politicians that align themselves to this field.

Regards,
Karl

Alright, natureguy... I'll agree to a polite intellectual exchange about the ideas and facts put forth in either An Inconvenient Truth or with the theory of global warming in general, as long as we skip the name calling and negativity. You go negative, I go to another forum.

My personal belief is that Gore has done more than any other individual to draw attention to, raise awareness about, and educate people regarding global warming -- how it works and how humans are affecting it.

So to get started, just so I know where we stand... do you agree with the theory that humans are significantly contributing to the contributions of CO2 in the atmosphere, which in turn will lead to higher average global temperatures?

Hello Tony,

Thanks for enganging in the discussion.

Why dont you start a discussion topic in the Climate Change forum. Here is the link: http://www.sustainabilityforum.com/f...limate-change/

It would be fitting for this discussion.

Thanks.

Fabian

Surely, I shall be polite and I hope for the same from you. I am not negative. I am just willing to have a good debate.

Gore has done more than any other individual... But by and large the picture created by him is having lots of flaws, errors and misconceptions. Once we start a conversation I shall start giving all the proofs.

Humans are contributing to CO2 greatly, no doubt about that. But what I don't agree at this point in time is that CO2 isn't the key driver for Global Warming. Hence whatever happens to CO2 levels, it has nothing to do with Global Warming.

So I suggest you start a new thread and start putting your ideas and rest of the members would post their comments on the same.
