A new website promoting water conservation and wastage reduction has been launched in the UK.
Save Water Save Money: Home
The site seeks to change the behaviour of average users by appealing both to their better instincts about sustainability AND to their desire to save money by reducing watsage.
Britons today consume 30% more water than we did back in 1970. With the added effects of global warming, water can no longer be considered an inexhaustible resource. In fact, a third of all UK households now pay directly for their water usage, and all new home owners are obliged to receive a water meter.
So it makes sense to use water wisely. And the more you do the less money you'll spend. Even saving a drip or drop here and there will make a difference – both to the environment and to your pocket.
