IIRC, about 18 months ago, a new lead acid technology was announced. It seems they used pc chip plasma technology to lay microns of lead on a carbon lattice as the 'plates'. They reported the power density was 20 times that of conventional lead acid, and made a test run with a small electric car that ran 1500 miles on a single charge.

but no news since. Why not?
