Hello Karl, thanks for your welcome and words of encouragement. Go Green T&T is a new organisation. Our first major venture occured just last month at the International Clean-Up Campaign. We were able to participate in five (5) beaches througout the island, attracting a total of forty three (43) volunteers under our banner. At Last years campaign, plastic bags accounted for just over ten (10) percent of the total debris collected from the nations coastlines. Coincidentally, it also accounted for ten (10) percent of the total debris collected internationally. It is events such as these that really drives the point home as to how inconsiderate we have become to our environment. Last year, an entire vehicular "engine mount" was left on one of the beaches. This highlights the level of ignorance displayed by some of our citizens and the need for a strong campaign to enlighten our nation as to the impact on our future generations. Generally speaking the event was well recieved, as many different corporations encouraged their staff to participate.
Go Green T & T is in the process of developing a website to highlight such issues ,and to foster the gathering of like minds towards the environment. I would like to possibly meet with you to discuss further.
