Default I'd like to take the chance to say a big HELLO!!

Hello to all of you involved with the sustainability forum. My name is Ian Disturnal and I work for Active Earth Training. I should give you a little information about what we are doing. EasyDay Adventure Eco Education is a powerful approach to sustainability education and has been running for almost 10 years providing experiential outdoor based programs for students and young professionals. EasyDay is now a brand of ActiveEarth Training which provides training programs for CSR Leaders, Teams and Post Graduates. You can check us out a Active Earth Training. The idea behind our organisation is quite simple. We are all well aware of the problems we face, and of course, with our amazing minds we are able to create many innovative technological solutions to tackle the SYMPTOMS of these issues. But if we are to tackle the ROOT CAUSES of these challenges then there is a need for a psychological transformation. Its like Einstein said, ""We cannot solve a porblem with the same mindset that created it". We cannot continue the business as usual scenario driven by the perceived needs of a race which sees itself as inherently separate from nature. A nice way to look at sustainability is to view it as living in harmony with each other and the rest of nature. It is clear that we must develop an understanding of self which recognises our interconnected relationships with our life supporting systems.

This is what we do at AET. Such an understanding of the ecological self is not something you can learn from a book, it is something which you must experience. We use the combination of adventure and nature to provide the space and focus to develop new perspectives, understandings and values in terms of the relationships we share as individuals and organisations with the all encompassing bioshpere. This tacit knowledge provides the basis from which sustainability can flow.

'Well thats it in a nutshell, i could go on for a very long time. Please feel free to ccontact me on the forum to express any opinions, share any news or information. We very much share the opinion that this is for the common good and as such are striving to build a network of like minded folks and organisations.
