Hello Shambhu and welcome to Sustainability Forum.
Convincing students to use bicycles or other means than cars will depend to a large extent on distance from campus to where they live or stay. But overall, if not the environment or sustainability, it will be the rise in price of fuels that will change the mentality of college students (and others) to adopt "greener" lifestyles.
