This week the 2018 World Economic Forum in Davos / Switzerland will be taking place. Sustainability will be a topic there of course as well. So make sure you are following the news and discussion. This is the main WEF website for the overview: WEF 18
This is the link to the programme: WEF 18 Programme. This programme is so interesting, I would love to stay in front of the livestream all day long. But work comes first. 🙂
The 23rd of January for example will feature this interesting session: Sustainable and Nutritious Food
More information about this session: “Agriculture accounts for more greenhouse gas emissions than all cars, trucks, trains and airplanes combined. Emerging food technologies and new business models could not only radically cut emissions, but also address the rising problem of unhealthy diets. What is needed to propel a sustainable and nutritious food revolution?”
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) are also on the agenda. Make sure you follow #SDGLive this week too.

My reasons to follow the 2018 World Economic Forum
For me the 2018 World Economic Forum will be particularly interesting to follow for two reasons:
- How will global leaders face this change in global political climate. We all know that certain populist leaders are trying to destabilize our efforts for more globalization. What will the WEF 18 delegates have to say about this fact? Will they provide us with alternatives? Or will this simply be a talking shop in a magnificent destination?
- What role will Sustainability and Business play in the 2018 World Economic forum? Will it play a role at all? Or will these topics be addressed with the coverage of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s)?
If you have some time on your hands the next few days, I can only recommend to use some of this to tune in and see what this WEF 2018 has to offer for you personally.
